Wellis creates over 800 jobs in Ózd with huge investment
Thanks to the continuous development, Wellis Hungary Ltd. the company that started as a small family business and is now a global success, started working on expanding the company to Ózd in the autumn of 2020. With developments made to the factory previously owned by ABB, production started in July on a completely new construction site equipped with automated manufacturing technology. With the sites in Ózd and Dabas, the Hungarian manufacturer is not keeping it a secret that they are aiming to become the largest hot tub exporter in the upcoming years.
With the first investment in 2020, the company expanded the area of the manufacturing facilities in Ózd by 24 000 square metres. The complex will also contain a 20 000 square metre logistics centre, which will store materials as well as thousands of hot tubs. The company plans to hand over the first investment in Ózd in March 2022.
Due to the increasing market demand in America, this year, Wellis plans to double last year’s manufacturing volume. To fulfil this objective, Wellis plans on making a second investment to expand capacity and install new, modern production lines in Ózd until the end of 2022. The second investment of 5.6 million euros will create 100 new jobs in the city. The company was offered cash support of 624 million forints awarded by an individual Government decision, which was accepted.
